CHANGES

A Reflection on Global Warming
Everything changes into something and something came from changes of another something. For the past months, for the past years, and for the past decades, there is one thing in common in them. What is it? Change. I have three questions in my mind, but first, let me give the first two: What are these changes? What and who caused these changes?
What are these changes? There are lot of things occurred within the duration I said a while ago. There were problems appeared regarding man’s life, these problems were solved, and even if they were already solved, they caused more problems that are needed to be solved and it goes to a new cycle of changes again and again and again. Why do I speak of changes? How is it connected to global warming? By the term itself, there is a change that occurs within the world. In the term “Global Warming”, warming is in the notion of being a being that is in its process of becoming. When we say that it is in its process of its becoming, it is continuously becoming warm, or let’s say “hot”, in the world. The change is the continuously heating on the Earth’s surface because of something.
What and who caused these changes? Because of something? What do I mean by “because of something”? It means that the change, which is the effect, is caused by the things and mankind. Yes! Absolutely! WE are the responsible agents of the changes that occur in our surroundings. WE are the ones responsible of our irresponsibility, WE are the ones who throw trash irresponsibly, WE are the ones who kill the nature, and WE are the ones causing the global warming. Have we forgotten our real responsibility and our real duty to the nature? WE are given the authority over the nature and authority to take care of it and become good stewards of it, but NOT the authority to destroy it.
The first two questions were already answered, and let me reveal the third problem, the most important among the three: What can we do to solve the first two problems? All we need to do is to remember that we are trusted by God to be RESPONSIBLE stewards of His creation. We need to think of plans that may solve different problems occurring in our society, in our world. Of course, it must not be only a plan. A theory without practice is useless so this plan must be put to actions for it to be useful.
Let’s take this as a challenge for us. It is difficult, of course, because there is nothing easy in this world. Problems and challenges, though they are, will help us to grow, to be stronger and for us to be rightfully called as the stewards and children of our God the Father.
Are you ready to take the challenge?

  1. global warming occurs not only because of human irresponsibility. change is the constant in the nature and one of the changes is that what we so called global warming. yes we are one of the contributors why we suffer these changes but we should not blame ourselves too much for we are just part of nature and we are maybe standing in one or two corners of nature. why people keep on blaming other human beings? because they think that man is the main cause of such issue, actually they don`t know the whole reality for the nature is bigger than us and we are its part. let us compare these changes in human life.form birth to death there are a lot of changes either good of bad depends to the perception of being. changes in human life is like changes in nature it self.
my question is this, why there are people very much aware of this issue? are they want to stop it or afraid to suffer and die?
if we think a particular issue it will be resolved or it is the reason to make it big. we should not put ourselves in this issue for we don`t know the whole reality.
if you one of theme who are very much aware and afraid to suffer don`t worry for if you believe really to God he will not let his creatures be ruined, but if the natures will be destroyed and disappear it is known, willed by God for the nature to realize that he is Weak and there is greater than him.

  3. It is true that we do not need to blame ourselves, but as rational beings, we need to focus not on the literal meaning of the changes occurring in the world. All we need is to think for the better, all we need is to change positively. If no one will change and if no one will have the initiative to take care of the world, what might happen to the world?
We must still be aware of the things because we are given the task to be its stewards, good stewards, and a good steward needs to be aware of the things happening within his rule.
Another thing is we need to be also aware that a whole is nothing without its part. Even if we are only parts of the whole, we need to think and take actions to secure the safety of the whole.
To be aware and to suffer is inevitable as long as it is not for a personal affair, but for the better of the entire world.

  4. let us say that we are being ordered by "GOD" as what you said to take care of this world! God is that supreme of all and man is simply following him so what is the reason why we need to mind such issue? to have better world and wealthy and healthy environment or just you want to carry the problem? GOD knows his creatures. if there is something wrong in human activities God will respond immediately. don`t worry!

  5. my friends, i believe the both of you are very attached to christian doctrine that both of you seem to be astray. i believe you're not seeing the whole picture. why?

first, you always have the notion that we are the stewards of this world; of nature. but are we? my friends, we are just coexisting in this world. if we are the stewards of this world, it follows that it's dependent on us. but, as we see, it's not. nature will always be there even if we're not here (or even better). why, because nature is never dependent on men. because men is never the steward of this world. on the contrary, who's dependent is us. we are dependent on nature. should we say then that the nature is our steward. it is more logical to say, isn't it? many of us are so blinded and fooled by the church's petty notions. my friends, i believe you should get out of that way of thinking first. look at it this way: in the bible, God created the world in the sixth day, together with the animals. it doesn't took him that long. but how long did god created the other creatures? it definitely took him longer. does this implies something? yes it does, that our existence is not more important than that of any other existent being here on earth. this my friends is what we should see.

second, because we've develop this kind of thinking that our existence is of superior importance than any other in this world, we feel so messianic that we're going to solve the problem of this world on global warming. on one hand, we can say that mankind holds the solution, but this solution is tragic - man's extinction. basically, that's the ultimate solution. if we adhere to what glenn says theory and practice, then there's the theory. are we ready to die for this world's salvation? but, this is quite absurd to most people. well, this is the truth. i've remember the punk band my chemical romance once said: "everybody wants to save the world but no one wants to die." we are talking about saving this world. my friends, it will be destroyed eventually, and that is what science proves. even the bible has something to say with this matter as christian m. says - the revelation. what then? what we can only do is just postpone its destruction. why are we disputing on something inevitable?

third, because of our notion of superiority, we've detached ourselves from nature. when we say nature, man is always exclusive. why should we be? as i've said we are just coexisting in this world just like any plant, or any animal, or anything. i believe this could be one solution aside from our tragic extinction. but, this would mean having life the primitive way. friends, we must accept that we are nature. man is never of separate level of existence. we should draw ourselves back, back to the notion that we're nature, back when the church has not said anything about us being stewards. this, my friends is the better solution.

i agree with glenn that everything changes. heraclitus said that we cannot step at the same river twice. the world changes and parallel to it is our change. change in nature is interwoven with change in mankind. as one changes, so as the other. the change in mankind's material activity has brought devastation to the other party, the nature, that in effect (or as a form of vengeance) has brought back devastation to man. what i conclude is that mankind should've never changed from its primitive ways of living. we often despise the primitive ways for we say we're always having a forward outlook. but see who's going backwards now?

change? we always say this progressively. with zeal burning in our hearts and with compassion and courage, but nothing happened. yes we should change. we should go back to nature where we belong. i hope, what i've shared can be a catalyst for change in you.
